We left off on a new magical adventure to a world of hurt, diet and deadline. A place where we need to get off our asses and start making real change and progress.
Having the week start with my birthday was probably a bad idea. Like most of my past times since moving to Melbourne, the word of the day was food. Favourite meals, home made, dinners with people who care about me and lots of brunch and snacks. It equated to a 92.2 weigh in, a lot of feeling guilty as my journey was just beginning and the temptation was all too real.
Then I settled, I had a day off to ourselves (which is unheard of). I cleaned, relaxed and ate our prescribed plan for the day. I had decided 2 months ago that Lite N Easy was going to be my forte. My way to go as feeding myself and thinking about food just got more challenging.
Our goal going into the week was to stick to the eating plan and work out four times. 3 HIIT sessions and one yoga session.
I completed the first, it was gruelling. By the 15min mark my brain was like no. There is this tik tok video series I have been watching where this girl plays out conversations between her brain and her various selves (body, heart, stomach etc.) and the whole time I was sweating and puffing I could only think, no. No, this isn’t for us.
So I gave myself grace and decided that was the end for the day. Day 2 comes around and I only hit the 5min mark. Ouch. If I thought only being able to do 15mins was bad, 5 mins was a killer.
Then the week got busy, and like always workouts 3 and 4 took a backseat, we had a day of self-care, a late night shifts, and another dinner. That was it. Week was done and my efforts shot. I can take saving grace that at least I had played a basketball game (which we atrociously lost) and all in all, my meal plan was fairly successful – minus a few hiccups due to the social events of the week.
And now we reach the start of week 2.
The Goal
- 3 HIIT sessions of 20 mins
- 1 yoga session
- Stick to meal plan
Let’s see how we go.
